That last photo reminds me of something Pat Rhodes said to me.
She thought that Dusty's appeal to her fans was that twinkle in her eye--
that hint of mischief--always that bit of the child in her, that everyone can relate to.

It's from the Jools Holland Giants DVD which is widely available in the UK; not sure whether it's available anywhere else though!
Re. it being her last TV performance - I read somewhere that her last TV appearance was on The Des O'Connor Show in 1996 where she sang "Go Easy On Me" and the JHG performance was in June 1995... so which one's actually right??!

Thanks so much Sarah! I was thinking that IDWTGOWY would make great screen shots and you posted them! Would've tried if i knew how but you'd have beaten me to it anyway. I think they're some of the most beautiful close-ups. AISIY is also a favourite.
Love the song Anna (don't understand a word), and as Marty said, Dusty looks so happy. Love the expressions! As always the words are written all over her face.
Since seeing TV footage of Dusty i look for the same kind of connection when it comes to other artists. Dusty certainly did it best! Is this just because i'm biased?
I'm sure we all agree that Dusty would've made a brilliant actress!! If only she did get to play those kind of parts she was interested in. She would've waltzed out with the Oscars and then some.

I think I've just seen some of the best ever pictures of Dusty. The close up's from IDWTDOWY belong on album covers, they truly beat some of the ones we do get. Perfection and some of the most iconic of poses caught too. I just can't pick favourites and I know I'm going to use up so much ink here! I love the final shot with the hand in the air from SIFFY....one for the website Nancy

I think the fact that these pictures are so beautiful is testament to how much Dusty loved performing - and how natural she was on stage. They're probably more beautiful than any of the 'posed' shots of her.
Whenever I see shots like these, I can't help but think of the Ray Connelly interview, in which he describes Dust as having a "pretty, *lumpy* face". Was he interviewing someone else??
